What is Sonnen storage system?
The question we are most often asked by our customers who own a photovoltaic system is: “Why do I have to feed excess energy into the grid and cannot store it and use it at night?”. Indeed, due to the lifestyle of modern families, energy consumption is higher at times when the system is not operating.
This is the main reason why, over the years, we have focused on finding a truly efficient storage system to retrofit existing PV systems. We finally found it in 2015. – Versatility: it can be installed on an existing system without having to modify its configuration

How does the Sonnen storage system work?
Sonnen stores the excess electricity generated by your PV system when you need it, for example during the daytime, when you are at work or on travel. Therefore, you can use the stored energy in the evening, at night, early in the morning.
The operating principle of a Sonnen storage system is shown in the figure below.
The direct current generated by the PV system (1) is converted into alternating current by the inverter (2). The meters (3) and (4) detect the instantaneous electric powers (in watts) (3) detects energy generation (4) detects the household energy consumption (7).

La SonnenBatterie Eco è in grado di adattarsi al tuo fabbisogno energetico nel corso della giornata:
MATTINO
produzione di energia minima, alto consumo di energia. Il sistema fornisce la parte mancante con l’energia immagazzinata il giorno prima.
GIORNO
alta produzione di energia, bassi consumi e intermittenti. Il sistema accumula energia quando viene prodotta in eccesso ma è anche pronto a fornirla immediatamente non appena i consumi si alzano oltre la produzione, evitando acquisti e/o distacchi di rete.
SERA
bassa produzione di energia e alti consumi. Il sistema coprirà il fabbisogno energetico con l’energia accumulata durante il giorno garantendo anche una maggiore potenza disponibile in prelievo.
Come potete vedere dal grafico la produzione in eccesso che altrimenti verrebbe immessa in rete, viene invece immagazzinata dalle batterie. Il suo utilizzo, quindi, viene trasferito in quegli orari in cui non ci sarebbe stata produzione.
